What Percent of 40 Million Seniors Live Alone

How many seniors live alone 65 or older, the stats are interesting as I look at it I see 43% and that is a huge number. Also in that number there are things that are interesting one is that women that live alone have less funds to make life comfortable than women who may have just lost a spouse. How are you going to get along and what does your future of retirement look like? Are you going to live in a small apartment by yourself, lonely, afraid, not eating right and maybe very few friends. "NOT ME" I am going to look for a person that wants to be my friend and share expenses with me so both of us can live in a resort lifestyle. Where most things are included like Meals, Socializing, Entertainment, Transprotation, Emergency help and at half the cost because I have a friend to share the expenses.

40 Million Senior

If you look at the US Census you will see that 40 million americans are 65 or older. That number is growing by 10, 000 each day and will continue to do that for the next 20 years. Out of the 40 million seniors over 65 there are 43% of them that are living alone. That why we are known as the baby boomer generation. Coming to grips with the fact that things might not be as rosey for all of the retirees, it easy to see why looking at an alternative to owning or living by your self could be something that is less important to you in the future. We are seeing ads all over the place about sharing living with a friend. It makes sense. I was told at a meeting in Baltamore in 2004 about the number of people living in a retirement community. That number was staggering to me, when we look at the whole we see that only 5% of the people are taking advantage community living. 94% of seniors in America today are living alone, some lonely, some afarid, some not eating right and just waisting away. Why when you could be living a life at a great cost, with a friend, not lonely, not afarid, eating better, socializing and enjoying life. Come to my website and look it over, we don't keep you there, you can leave anytime you want. Look at www.homeofseniorinfo.com

Future Retirement

Living in the future may become more difficult with Social Security becoming an issue for Baby Boomers and seniors from the earlier generations. What is common today may change as we see in other places in the news. People may get to a point of frustration with problems in the Social Security system as we close in on the baby boomer generation taking Social Security. We have some challenges with social security today and we need to look closely at what can be done to help make retirement affordable. If you read my posts you can see ways to start saving on retirement. It is up to you to look at this as an option, somethings can work and maybe we need to look closer at what can be done by us.

John Kennedy said ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. I go a little further with that saying ask what you can do for yourselves to save our country. We the people need to not let this country get in a state like other countries and that is only possible if we take action now. We need to do things that make sense. We can save money by other means than just putting money away in a bank only to have the bank collapse and we get a big let down. Look at living options for yourself now and save money for the future when things could get worse.

We all have friends and some of them would love to work out some living arrangement that would make it easier for them to live and cut costs. I saw on TV the other day where whole families in a one block area in Arizona are living in the same house to save until the economy gets better. They are sharing expenses to get by.

Seniors could look at this option and save a huge amount of money each month. They would have someone to keep them company, it would be safer, they could have a travel companion, in an emergency they would have help right away and they would save money. Don't get me wrong this is a wonder resort style of living where everything is included in the monthly rent. Dining, entertainment, socializing, rent, utilities and travel. Whats not to like.

We see people in other countries in the streets marching again the government. This is real and it could happen anywhere so we need to help by starting to watch where we can save. If we can save on food, rent, recreation and medical it will help our country stay the strongest country still in the world.

I commonly see people save and recycle all kinds of things to make sure we have a good life for our children and grandchildren, but when it comes to sharing with someone we are far behind any other country. Lets start looking at what can be saved economically by sharing with others. Read my posts and see the ways you can save by sharing with your friends.

Senior Apartment

Great Retiring Lifestyles

Life in a senior resort is evolving and as we see new properties go up they are extending what they offer to meet the needs of the next retiring generation. The baby boomers are the next group, but until they start looking for some luxury lifestyle. You can take advantage of great amenities provided by these resorts for seniors. Remember senior starts at fifty two according to most.

Today they are beautiful campuses with services, like valet for your car, concierges services, chefs that provide freedom dining that lets you sleep in until you want to start your day, common areas to enjoy with your friends, socializing type happy hours and activities you can share with others your age. They even include the utilities except phone, but most of you have a cell phone anyway. You will feel like college again except you have money to do something now.
Renting an apartment in a beautiful resort style of community has some great advantages. I could rent an apartment with a close friend and live in comfort. If I liked to travel I would have a concierges call a sister property in the location I wanted to go and reserve their guest suite.

When a person lives in an apartment in one property they can take advantage of the agreement that allows you to go to a sister property and stay for free. This includes dining, all the activities, common areas like the fitness center, theatre, spa, pool room and any other area at that property. You are paying for an apartment at your property and it allows you to go stay in other sister properties at no extra charge.

I know when it is cold in the northern part of the US it might be nice to get away for a week to a warm part of the country. Lets say Co Co Beach, Florida or some warm spot in Texas that time of the year would be nice. You can stay about a week in most other locations.

The cost of an apartment for one person in a could run about $3300 a month, but if you decide to share an apartment with a friend the second person is charged $400. If you add the two together it would cost $3700 a month. That divided between two people is $1850 a month and includes all the items mentioned above. What ever you have to spend after the rent is yours there are no utilities or other hidden charges. Of course if you have outside guests it will cost them if they dine.

The cost is less than some of the nice apartment houses in town which gives you no services, No dining, your utilities are not paid, you have no travel package, you may not have a concierge to help you with booking a flight. Most apartments houses I have lived in the next door neighbor has lived there for three years and I don’t even know his name. Very little socializing in apartment house living.

Today is the day to start thinking about what your future will be like. Do you want to have friends, live an up scale life, have things done for you, take the worry away, travel to places you have never been at an affordable cost and get up when you want. Maybe this is really for you!!!!
